Our Team
Kristy's qualifications are a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours from the University of New South Wales.
She has over 13 years experience working with individuals with a range of psychological difficulties using approaches from CBT, ACT, DBT, psychodynamic and mindfulness-based therapies. For 6 years she worked at Northside Clinic, a Private Hospital in North Shore Sydney, where she provided both individual and group therapy to adults and adolescents in crisis and with acute mental health problems. She has also consulted in public community health and public hospital settings and for the past 9 years has been working with adolescents, adults and couples in private practice.
Kristy has developed CBT group programs for individuals struggling with hallucinations and delusions and run mindfulness meditation classes and treatment programs for individuals with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, adjustment problems, eating disorders and psychosis. She has provided educational seminars to family members and carers of individuals with mental health problems within the community. Further, she has conducted training seminars in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to Lifeline counselling practitioners and staff at a Sydney Private Hospital.
In addition to her work as a therapist she has assisted with research into the treatment for phobias, the neuropsychological functioning of traumatic brain injury patients, the cognitive functioning of elderly adults, child development and emotional and behavioural troubled youth. She has also written a published case history in the area of treatment for Depersonalisation Disorder using Mindfulness based and ACT techniques.
Kristy is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. She is also a member of The Australian Psychological Society (APS), and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. She is a Board Approved Supervisor for psychologists completing the Clinical Psychology Registrar Program.
Anna is a fully registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. She completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at the University of Sydney and obtained a Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree from the University of Newcastle. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
She has experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of psychological difficulties having worked across a variety of mental health settings. Anna’s clinical training and practice is in CBT, ACT, DBT and mindfulness-based therapies. Using these therapy models she has treated adults and adolescents with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, self-esteem issues, psychosis, grief and loss, relationship problems and personality disorders.
Anna previously worked on the Eating Disorders Unit at Northside West Clinic, a Sydney Private Hospital. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the practice in the area of psychological treatment for eating disorders and body image problems and has a particular interest in working with clients presenting with these concerns.
Anna has been involved in mental health research for a number of years. In 2015 her Doctoral thesis research study which investigated cognitive deficits in Schizophrenia was published in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology. In addition, she has conducted research for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Macquarie University, and also a large study based at Westmead Hospital which evaluated the efficacy of a social cognitive remediation program for individuals with schizophrenia and helped develop the 2013 published manual for this program.
